GUEST SPEAKER:     Bill Marvin, Capital Rotary Club

SPECIAL PRESENTATION:   Bill Marvin with Capital Rotary provided a presentation on two projects that the Rotary Club sponsors.  The first project is for children with disabilities.  Each year, the Rotary Club sponsors a camp for these children.  He asked if some of the members of the club would be interested in taking a weekend day and providing a fishing trip for the kids.  He advised that the Rotary Club would be furnishing whatever fishing tackle, etc. that would be necessary; that we would be providing our boats and would be helping the kids during the fishing trip.  The dates for this would be either 07/27/13 or 08/10/13.

The second project is the Wounded Warrior Project.  Bill asked if any of the members would be interested in providing boats to take some of the disabled returning veterans on an organized fishing trip.  There has been no date set for this, as yet.

Many members expressed interest in one of both of the projects.

MEETING AGENDA:  The meeting agenda was reviewed.  Dallas Johnson moved to accept the agenda; the motion was seconded by Larry Morris.  The motion was carried.

PRIOR MEETING MINUTES:  Billy Owens brought up the fact that his name was omitted from the “members present” in the prior meeting minutes.  The minutes were amended to include Billy.  Dallas Johnson moved to accept the minutes as amended; Rodger Timmons seconded the motion.  The motion was carried.

TREASURER’S REPORT:  Treasurer Rick Johnson provided the following treasurer’s report:

On Hand:            $  647.02

Checking:           $3,274.73

Credits:              $1,643.10

Balance:             $2,258.65

John Vickers moved to accept the treasurer’s report; Dallas Johnson seconded the motion.  The treasurer’s report was accepted as presented.

INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS:  Mickey Roache (sp) – guest of Dallas Johnson, Justin Johnson – guest of Justin Sutton and potential pledge.

NEW BUSINESS:  Justin Sutton asked if the club would be interested in having a week-night tournament.  The pros and cons of this were discussed.  No firm decision was made.

OLD BUSINESS:    Rules Chairman Don Gainey presented proposed changes in the tournament rules to re change the verbiage in the rules from stating “bass” can be weighed in to basically include any species of “black bass”.  This would alleviate the chance of someone later insisting on being able to weigh in a striper or a white bass.

DOLLAR POT:  Won by Justin Johnson.  There must be something about being a guest; this is two meetings in a row that the dollar pot was won by a guest.
