TALLAHASSEE BASS ANGLERS

Meeting Minutes – 06/04/13

CALL TO ORDER:

The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by President John Rudolph.

MEMBERS PRESENT: Bob McCann, John Rudolph, Justin Sutton, Dick Durbin, Billy Owens, Rick Johnson, Dusty Stacy, John Vickers, Mike Thomas, Larry Morris, Jason Junkin, John Beal, Don Gainey, Brooks Woodward, Jason Meredith(P).

MEETING AGENDA: The meeting agenda was reviewed. The agenda was amended to remove the vote on Jason Meredith, as he still has to fish one more tournament. The agenda was then approved by general consensus.

PRIOR MEETING MINUTES: John Rudolph advised that the minutes from the May 7, 2013 meeting were on the web site. Dick Durbin moved that the minutes be accepted as posted; Jason Junkin seconded the motion. The minutes were approved.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Treasurer Rick Johnson provided the following treasurer’s report:

On Hand: $ 627.02

Checking: $3,244.73

Credits: $1,628.10

Balance: $2,243.65

Bob McCann moved to accept the treasurer’s report; Don Gainey seconded the motion. The treasurer’s report was accepted as presented.

INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS: Van Sutton was in attendance as a guest; however not a first-timer. He is the father of new member Justin Sutton. Cody Cernline was presented as a guest and potential new member by Brooks Woodward.

NEW BUSINESS: President John Rudolph received a request from Jim Hughey that he be allowed to fish the next tournament without entering the draw. His brother-in-law is going to be in the country visiting, and he would like to be allowed to bring his brother-in-law as a guest. It was discussed that this had occurred before, with no adverse results. Larry Morris moved that this be allowed to take place. John Vickers seconded the motion. It was carried unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS: John Vickers brought up that the current tournament rules do not specify a particular species of bass that can be weighed in; they strictly say “bass”. This could, theoretically, pave the way for someone to weigh a striped bass at a tournament. He also stated that it is not size-specific. John Vickers moved that the rules chairman draft a change to the tournament rules that would be more specific in both areas. Larry Morris seconded the motion. It was carried unanimously.

DOLLAR POT: Won by Van Sutton, guest and father of Justin.

TOURNAMENT CHAIRMAN’S REPORT:

Lake Eufaula Tournament: The following is the top-three results for the Lake Eufaula tournament on 5/26/13:

1)      John Vickers

2)      Dallas Johnson

3)      John Beale

Congratulatory accolades went out to these top finishers.

ADJOURN: There being no further business; Dick Durbin moved that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was seconded by Jason Junkin. The meeting was adjourned at 8:03 p.m.
