TALLAHASSEE BASS ANGLERS
Meeting Minutes – 11/05/13

CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by President John Rudolph.

MEMBERS PRESENT: John Rudolph, Billy Owens, Rodger Timmons, Rick Johnson, Mike Thomas, Justin Sutton, John Beal, Les Shope, John Vickers, Jason Meredith, Larry Morris, Dallas Johnson, Marty Spears, Brooks Woodward, David Heflin(p), Kayla Sutton(g).

MEETING AGENDA: The meeting agenda was reviewed. It was accepted by general consensus.

PRIOR MEETING MINUTES: John Rudolph advised that the minutes from the meeting of 10/15/13 had been posted on the web site, and asked if there were any changes. There were none. Justin Sutton moved that the minutes be accepted as posted; Rick Johnson seconded the motion. The motion carried.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Treasurer Rick Johnson provided the following treasurer’s report:
On Hand:    $ 320.44
Checking:  $3,703.27
Credits:      $1,723.33
Balance:    $2,300.38

John Vickers moved to accept the treasurer’s report; Larry Morris seconded the motion. The treasurer’s report was accepted as presented.

INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS: Justin Sutton introduced his guest, Kayla, as his “daughter and favorite fishing partner”.

NEW BUSINESS:
Classic Tournament: There was much discussion on a location for the Classic Tournament. Some members thought it might be better to hold it at a local lake, to encourage participation. Others felt that, with it being the Classic, and a sort of welcome-back tournament to kick off the new year, that it should be held at an out-of-town location. It was finally decided to hold the Classic at Lake Kissimmee if possible, with the Suwannee River as a back-up location. A definite date has not been chosen, as we will have to check on availability of a place to stay.
Banquet: The banquet will be held once again at the farm in Georgia that Marty Spears has access to. The date is currently undecided; it will be scheduled around the Classic.

OLD BUSINESS:

Jerseys: Brooks Woodward reported that he had received the proofs for the jerseys, and that they were incorrect. The proof reflected a dark-green background, rather than a white background. Brooks will send each person a copy of the new proof when he receives it.

Rick Johnson brought up that Jim Hughey had stated that he did not feel that the club should purchase him a jersey since he, by necessity, has limited participation. After discussion, it was decided by consensus of the members present that, with Jim being a member in good standing, we should furnish him a jersey.

Tournament of Champions: The Tournament of Champions was discussed. Overall, Tallahassee Bass Anglers fared well, with Les Shope taking 9th place overall.

DOLLAR POT: The dollar pot was won by Les Shope.
